There have been 16 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday. Of these cases, three (3) were infectious while in the community.

There are now 137 active cases associated with this outbreak.

As of 9am this morning ACT Health continues to work with over 13,500 people who have self-identified as close contacts of ACT outbreaks.

There are currently four (4) patients in ACT hospitals. Two (2) of these patients are receiving care for COVID-19 but neither require breathing support at this time. The other two (2) patients are COVID-19 positive but not in hospital for COVID related issues.

Over 3,700 tests were collected across the ACT yesterday, from both Government and private providers.

ACT Pathology, along with our private providers returned 4,270 negative test results in the 24 hours to 9am today.

Our vaccination efforts continue across the ACT with total vaccine doses administered now at 188,840.

Update on Condamine Court Housing ACT complex

There is a multi-agency response team on site at Condamine Court, providing information and support to those affected and all tenants. This response includes our community partners, who are critical to ensuring we are able to meet the needs of tenants.

ACT Health’s assessment remains ongoing at this time.

Condamine Court has been listed as a close contact exposure location today.

Update on cases in disability sector

The new cases announced today includes a support worker adding one case to the this cluster in the disability sector.

We continue to work with those directly affected and the wider disability sector with a focus on reducing the risk of transmission, communication and support.

We acknowledge the impacts on the sector are wider than those directly affected, and we are committed to working through these impacts and providing support to the entire sector.

Testing update

We remind Canberrans to continue to get tested. With active community transmission of COVID-19 in the ACT, this is important for our surveillance and to ensure that we are picking up any cases that are currently going undetected.

With rain forecast for today, Canberrans can keep up to date with testing service arrangements through ACT Health social media channels and the where to get tested page.

Stay COVID safe

We want to thank Canberrans for doing the right thing and staying at home. This is the single most important thing we can all do at this time to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We remind people that if undertaking essential activity out of the home to precautions to protect yourself and your family. Wear a mask, maintain good hand hygiene, keep your distance and use the Check In CBR app.
