COVID-19 exposure locations in the ACT

Exposure location notifications

Exposure locations are places that have been visited by an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19 during the time that they are considered to have been infectious.

ACT Health conducts risk assessments of exposure locations and determines the risk, if any, for the public from someone having been at that location when they were potentially infectious.

When all people at an exposure location can be identified and directly contacted, or there is no identified risk to the public, it may not be published as a public exposure location.

There are a number of ways you can find out if you have been to an exposure location;

  • Checking the ACT’s COVID-19 website exposure list
  • Direct contact by ACT Health by phone or text message
  • Via the Check In CBR app
  • For close contact exposure locations – These locations are considered a higher risk for onward transmission to people who were at the location at the date and times identified. If you receive an alert text message informing you that you are a close contact, you should follow the close contact instructions.
  • For casual contact exposure locations – These locations have a lower risk of onward transmission to people who were at the location at the date and times identified. If you receive an alert text message informing you that you are a casual contact, you should follow the casual contact instructions. Only casual contacts locations are listed as exposure sites and require action.

ACT exposure locations – business

If your business has been identified as a potential exposure location and you haven’t been contacted directly by ACT Health, please follow the guidance for cleaning of venues with a confirmed or potential case of COVID-19 and contact for further instructions.

For all information relating to COVID-19 and business in the ACT visit ACT COVID-19 Business Support Hub.

In line with our pathway forward and recent changes to our processes and reporting, we will no longer be listing exposure locations on the interactive map. All exposure locations and the allocated classifications will continue to be listed in the exposure locations table below.

Exposure Location Filter You can filter data using the following approach:
  • Choose at least one option from exposure location status and exposure location type; then
  • Enter a keyword such as the name of a suburb to only see exposure locations within that suburb; or
  • Click the name of a column to show data in ascending order based on the column's contents. Click the name of the column again to show data in descending order.

ACT school exposure locations

All ACT schools have health and safety measures in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 on campus.

If a school is identified as a COVID-19 exposure location, ACT Health will work with the school leadership team to respond. The school will communicate with parents and carers directly to let them and their families know what to do.

The below table identifies schools in the ACT currently affected by a COVID-19 exposure for the information of the ACT community.

The exposure may not affect the entire school or campus and if any action is required by you, you will receive communication directly from the school or ACT Health.

If your child’s school is identified as an exposure location, you can find information on what to expect in the Schools fact sheet.

More information about how COVID-19 cases are managed in ACT schools is available on the Education Directorate website

Current school exposure dates are listed below. If your child attends one of these schools and you have not been contacted directly by ACT Health, there is no further action for you to take and you can continue your usual activities.

Please monitor for symptoms. If any COVID-19 symptoms develop, please attend one of the COVID-19 testing centres in the ACT for a COVID-19 PCR test and please do not move around the community, including going to school until you have received a negative result and symptoms have resolved.

Expired exposure locations

  • Exposure locations are labelled archived once 14 days has elapsed since the last date of exposure, with a couple of exceptions.
  • Exposure locations will be archived and no longer listed on the website once 30 days has elapsed since the last date of exposure.
  • Occasionally we will be notified of a new location from more than 14 days ago. This usually happens when we have a case who recalls new details from their movements in follow up interviews that they did not remember when ACT Health first spoke to them.
  • If you identify you have been to an exposure location where the date was more than 14 days ago, we ask that you get tested, quarantine until you receive a negative result, and fill out the contact declaration form.
  • Additionally, from time to time we will also list investigation locations, which may be from more than 14 days ago. These are public locations where we believe several confirmed cases of COVID-19 may have acquired their infection. Investigation locations are used to help identify as many links as possible, as well as identify anyone else who may have unknowingly been exposed to COVID-19 at these locations.
  • If you have been to an investigation location at the dates and times specified, please get tested for COVID-19 and quarantine until receiving a negative result. You do not need to have symptoms and do not need to complete a declaration form. Your close contacts do not need to quarantine.

Locations outside the ACT
