Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

You can share and add your COVID-19 digital certificate to your Check In CBR app for easy access and storage.

You add the certificate to your Check In CBR app through a secure verification process using your Express Plus Medicare App or myGov account.

Once you have added your COVID-19 digital certificate to the app, when you check in, it will show a vaccination tick status next to your name.

Proof of vaccination is not required for entry into businesses, venues and events in the ACT. But after a risk assessment, some businesses with high-risk settings may need proof of vaccination for Work Health and Safety requirements.

Other states and territories will also provide this option in their check in apps. You can choose to have your certificate included in these apps too.

Check In CBR works in the ACT, Tasmania, Queensland and the Northern Territory. If you add your certificate to the Check In CBR app, and when travelling to Tasmania, Queensland or the Northern Territory you can use Check In CBR to check-in and show proof of vaccination.

How to show your COVID-19 digital certificate

Proof of vaccination is not mandatory for entry into businesses, venues or events in the ACT.

After a risk assessment, some businesses may need proof of vaccination for Work Health and Safety requirements. For instance, it is mandatory for any visitor to a Residential Aged Care facility to have had 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccination.

After you add your certificate to the Check In CBR app, you will see a vaccination tick next to your name next time you check in to a venue. Your full COVID-19 digital certificate will not display. If you want to show someone your COVID-19 digital certificate, you can open it from the digital certificate page in the Check In CBR app menu or by selecting the vaccination tick status against your name when checking in.

When checking in other people, how to show their proof of vaccination

Once a person has added their own COVID-19 digital certificate to their Check In CBR app on their device, they can then add COVID-19 digital certificates of guests including children they regularly check in with.

This can be done by the guest signing into their myGov account and authorizing to send their certificate to the Check In CBR app on the device of the person they are wanting to share their certificate with.

For those under 14 years and vaccinated, the parent or guardian can do this on their behalf, following the same process to get their own certificate into the app.

What to do if you don’t have a smart phone and use the Check In CBR card

Currently, the COVID-19 digital certificate is not available on your Check In CBR card.

Follow the steps provided by the Australian Government to get a printed copy of your proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Find out more on how to get proof of your COVID-19 vaccine.
