National Cabinet met on Wednesday 31 August to discuss COVID-19.

National Cabinet agreed to reduce the isolation periods for COVID-19 positive cases from 7 to 5 days following a positive test, provided people have no symptoms at 5 days.

There are additional conditions for people who work in or visit high-risk settings.

These changes will come into effect from Friday 9 September.

National Cabinet also agreed to remove the mandatory wearing of masks on domestic flights. This change will also come into effect from Friday 9 September.

ACT Health has advised affected individuals who have tested positive to COVID-19 since Saturday 3 September that isolation rules are changing from 11.59pmon Thursday 8 September. Those affected will receive further advice once the changes to isolation period have been implemented.
