There have been 40 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday.

Of these cases, 21 are linked to known cases or ongoing clusters. Nine (9) cases were in quarantine during their infectious period and 10 spent some time in the community while infectious and may present a risk of transmission to others.

There are now 711 cases who have recovered with 17 in the past 24 hours. This means there are now 430 active cases associated with this outbreak.

As of 9am this morning ACT Health continues to work with just under 1,600 people who have self-identified as close contacts of ACT outbreaks.

As at 8pm yesterday there were 16 patients in ACT hospitals, including six (6) in intensive care and five (5) of these cases requiring ventilation.

More than 4,800 tests were collected across the ACT yesterday, from both Government and private providers.

Our vaccination efforts continue across the ACT with total vaccine doses administered at ACT Government Clinics now at 344,866.

We have over 400 current exposure locations listed for the ACT. Canberrans are asked to keep up to date on new locations on the ACT COVID-19 website.

Stay COVID safe

We know that when we continue to do the right thing and take the appropriate COVID safe precautions, we are able to minimise the spread of COVID-19.

When outside the home make sure you are protecting yourself and your loved ones by:

  • wearing a mask and wearing it properly
  • maintaining good hand hygiene
  • physical distancing from people outside of your household – at least 1.5 metres, and
  • checking in everywhere you go with the Check In CBR app.
