There have been 41 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday.

Of these cases, 14 are linked to known cases or ongoing clusters and 24 are still under early investigation. Seven (7) cases were in quarantine during their infectious period and five (5) spent some time in the community while infectious and may present a risk of transmission to others.

There are now 694 cases who have recovered with 30 in the past 24 hours. This means there are now 407 active cases associated with this outbreak.

As of 9am this morning ACT Health continues to work with just under 1,600 people who have self-identified as close contacts of ACT outbreaks.

As at 8pm yesterday there were 15 patients in ACT hospitals, including seven (7) in intensive care and six (6) of these cases requiring ventilation.

More than 3,500 tests were collected across the ACT yesterday, from both Government and private providers. There were 3,019 negative test results in the 24 hours to 9am today.

Our vaccination efforts continue across the ACT with total vaccine doses administered at ACT Government Clinics now at 342,233.

We have over 410 current exposure locations listed for the ACT. Canberrans are asked to keep up to date on new locations on the ACT COVID-19 website.

Stay COVID safe

We know that when we continue to do the right thing and take the appropriate COVID safe precautions, we are able to minimise the spread of COVID-19.

When outside the home make sure you are protecting yourself and your loved ones by:

  • wearing a mask and wearing it properly
  • maintaining good hand hygiene
  • physical distancing from people outside of your household – at least 1.5 metres, and
  • checking in everywhere you go with the Check In CBR app.
