30 August 2021

There have been 12 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday.

Of these cases, all six (6) are linked to known cases or ongoing clusters, with two (2) in quarantine during their infectious period, six (6) in the community for part of their infectious period and four (4) still being assessed.

There are now 25 cases that have recovered, which means there are now 236 active cases associated with this outbreak. One case has been removed from the total figure in this outbreak due to the reclassification of a case following additional testing.

As of 9am this morning ACT Health continues to work with over 600 people who have self-identified as close contacts of ACT outbreaks.

There are currently 12 patients in ACT hospitals, including three (3) in intensive care with one (1) requiring ventilation.

Over 2,200 tests were collected across the ACT yesterday, from both Government and private providers.

ACT Pathology, along with our private providers, returned 2,096 negative test results in the 24 hours to 9am today.

Our vaccination efforts continue across the ACT with total vaccine doses administered now at 206,992.

We have over 190 current exposure locations listed for the ACT. Canberrans are asked to keep up to date on new locations on the ACT COVID-19 website.

Stay COVID safe

We continue to remind people to get tested, even with the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms.

We thank all Canberrans for doing the right thing and staying at home. We know this is a challenging time for everyone, but this is the single most important thing we can all do at this time to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We remind people that if undertaking essential activity out of the home to take precautions to protect yourself and your family. Wear a mask, maintain good hand hygiene, keep your distance and use the Check In CBR app.
