Remember your responsibilities

Ahead of the weekend with fine and warm weather forecast, ACT Chief Health Officer Dr Kerryn Coleman is reminding Canberrans to remember their responsibilities in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

“Whether you’re planning on heading to the footy or just making the most of the great weather this weekend, it is important we all continue to maintain physical distancing, practise good hand and respiratory hygiene, stay home If you are unwell and get tested if any COVID-19 symptoms present,” Dr Coleman said.

“For those heading out to see the Brumbies and Raiders, you must sit in your allocated seat and if you begin to feel unwell at the venue, you should notify a customer service attendant or first aid officer on site immediately to ask for assistance.”

Travel to Greater Sydney

ACT Health is continuing to closely monitor the ongoing situation in NSW. We remind any ACT residents who have visited the Sydney region and broader NSW to monitor the NSW Health website for updates on locations where confirmed cases have spent time while potentially infectious and follow any related instructions. This may include getting tested for even the mildest symptoms.

The advice on affected areas is changing regularly, so keep up to date with the latest advice. Please be mindful and aware of how easily the virus spreads. We continue to ask Canberrans to reconsider their need for any unnecessary travel, particularly to areas with COVID-19. We also encourage Canberrans not to invite friends and family from Greater Sydney to the ACT at this time.

Remember that while travelling, it is your responsibility to maintain physical distancing and practice good hygiene, as well as to adhere to the rules of the jurisdiction to which you are travelling.
