Information on New South Wales cases
NSW Health has issued further advice on cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel in Casula and now the Picton Hotel in Picton.
Canberrans who visited the Crossroads Hotel between 3 and 10 July 2020 – as well as people who visited the Picton Hotel on Saturday 4 July, Thursday 9 July, or Friday 10 July - are urged to isolate immediately and get in touch with ACT Health through the COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244.
These people are also encouraged to get tested for COVID-19, regardless of whether they are showing symptoms. This will help us in assisting the NSW Government in their efforts to establish the source of infection at the hotel. If you weren’t in these hotels during these times, there is no need to turn up to one of our COVID-19 testing centres unless you have symptoms.
ACT residents travelling in NSW are also reminded to be aware of the situation in that state and take appropriate precautions. This includes maintaining appropriate physical distancing measures and practicing good hand hygiene. The pandemic is not over and we must continue to be vigilant. Returning from Victoria
Canberrans who have been in Victoria within the past 14 days continue to be reminded that they must notify ACT Health before returning to the ACT.
To notify ACT Health of your intention to return, to apply for an exemption or to find out more about our border restrictions, you can visit covid19.act.gov.au, email email@example.com or phone the COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244.
We again ask Canberrans to remember four requirements in the coming weeks:
- Avoid large crowds;
- Keep 1.5 metres apart whenever possible;
- Continue good hand and respiratory hygiene; and
- Stay home if you are unwell and get tested if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
The ACT Government has a dedicated COVID-19 website for all information about the health and economic response to the pandemic in the ACT. For further information visit www.covid19.act.gov.au.
